Talking about ‘Be Mine’ team
“Our ‘Be Mine’ team had difficulty in the beginning. Youngmin, who was in charge of the choreography, had a hard time and because it was the first time Sungwoo hyung was dancing, he also had a hard time, and it seemed like everyone was having a hard time with their own reasons. And I didn’t know the choreography either, so there wasn’t much I could do, so that was really painful for me. And since I was the one to pick ‘Be Mine’, I felt really sorry. I wondered if our practices would have been easier if I picked an easier song that suited us better. The first one or two days were really hard. I was sorry as well. So I wrote a letter to each of them because I’m shy about talking face-to-face. It was to explain ‘why I picked each of them and what kind of first impression they gave to me. And that’s why I liked it. And that first impression that I felt will also be shown to the national producers, so let’s work hard on making this team.’ That’s how each of them opened up more and as I gave them snacks– there really wasn’t much I could do for them, because I didn’t know the choreography either, I was really sorry to Youngmin, but Youngmin would be in charge of the choreography and my role was to gather them up and provide a lot of time for each of us to talk about our inner thoughts and forget about the competition. That’s how we became closer with each other and were able to do well. But although it ended well, I realized that the position of a leader isn’t something that should be seen lightly.”
